Shrinkage Scale is used to measure the dimensions of the fabric before washing and after washing a material.

Shrinkage Scale is used to measure the dimensions of  the fabric before washing and after washing a material. The template is can be used for any type of fabric, whether it is knitted fabric or a woven fabric

The Skrinkage scale has a fine template which provides a calibrated measurement, used to accurately mark the textile fabrics. The standard size of the scale of the template is 14”, which is a standard meant for perfect measurements and to determine the change in the dimensions of the specimen. The calibration scale of the instrument helps to measure the stretch from 0% to 15% or shrinkage from 0% to 15%.

Shrinkage means a reduction in length and width of a fabric, which occurs after wetting and drying the fabric at different temperatures. The elegantly designed scale has two slots for measurement, namely horizontal and vertical slot. To perform a test, take a piece of material and measure its dimension. Now wet and dry it to create shrinkage in the material. Now again take the readings by placing the template on the material.  Ensure that the specimen is kept in flat position before you are going to take the readings. Hold the template tightly by placing it over the test sample in order to take accurate readings both the times (after and before wetting procedure). Now mark all the measurements with a marker which easily fits inside the slot. Now place the calibrated scale to analyze the difference. Take at least three readings for perfect analysis. Now you can calculate the percentage of shrinkage with the readings.
