Many varieties of fabrics and their usage depends on its quality. The fabrics are processed by a number of tests to analyse its strength and its ability to endure its purpose. The stress in fabrics should be tested in all directions by Burst Strength Tester as it is more likely to fail by a straight tensile fracture as the stress is mostly present at the elbows and knees of the clothing. Burst test is the latest technique to evaluate the strength of the fabrics and textile materials by giving stress on the sample from all directions at an equal interval. Failure due to bursting pressure means the fabric has the lowest breaking extension.  Fabric bursting situation occurs as soon as the stress is provided in every direction.

The Bursting Strength Tester Computerised performs burst tests that consist of rubber diaphragm. The fabric sample is clamped over the rubber diaphragm with the supporting annular clamping ring and giving fluid or glycerine pressure. The process starts by giving pressure from below the diaphragm until the sample bursts. Fabric Pneumatic Bursting tester is used to determine the bursting pressure of fabrics using pneumatic test method such as woven fabric, laminated fabric etc.

The bursting test is conducted by preparing the sample with respect to the size of the rubber diaphragm and clamping ring. The sample is then tightened over the rubber diaphragm. The pressure of the glycerine is fixed with the BS tester that maximises the increasing rate and at a particular pressure to burst the specimen. The exerted pressure is recorded with another test to be carried out.

The display is both digital and computerised, capacity is 0-40 kg/cm2 with an accuracy of ±1% within 10% to 90% of the entire range. The least count if the instrument is 0.1 kg/cm2 with a digital sensor. The rate of fluid is 95 cc/min and the test fluid that is used is glycerine about 95% purified. The motor used is ¼ HP, Single phase 1440 rpm. The motor specification is single phase 220V, single phase, 50 Hz. It adheres to standards of ASTM D3786, BS 3137, ISO 3303-1:2012, ISO 3689-1983, IS-1060-1987.
