Several methods are used in industry now a days to measure wall thickness. The destructive method means testing the materials by cutting the material into more than one sections to determine the thickness of the bottle’s wall. When a material is cut in more than one sections, one of the samples is kept inside the device using an optical beam that passes to measure the thickness of the wall of the bottle. It is not possible every time to cut the sample so, it is a rare testing method.

Non-destructive method eliminated the need for performing destructive testing. Measuring wall thickness of bottles do not include deformation or cutting of samples to evaluate the thickness of the material.
